In Celebration of Winter ~
My Antidote to Christmas Craziness!
Whenever
I’ve been out in nature in the past few weeks, I have
noticed just how still everything is, how quiet. I
can feel the energy of the earth going deep down into
herself.
I
was in ancient
woods just a few weeks ago, an old haunt from my childhood
days. It was a beautiful still morning, rays of the
sun like fingers through the mists shone through the
trees and frost had etched the spiders webs in diamond
lights. The soft sound of leaves tumbling gently towards
the earth was all I could hear as the trees let go
so gracefully into their winter garb. Their nakedness,
their vulnerability showing through and yet un-minding,
not fearful of letting go, simply knowing that it’s
time.
There
is a time for all things, and this is the dark time,
the still time right now.
The time when I feel a deep need to go inside for
inspiration, making time to work out what I really
want for the next part of my life.
The
way that most of us live life these days pushes against
this natural cycle, goes against our natural rhythms,
which means that we can often feel weary and
exhausted at this time of year. I think it’s important
to honour the dark times for what they hold within
them… the stillness, the depth, the insights, and
the inner peace that comes with wholeness.
Honouring
where I am within the cycles of life, helps me to
stay connected to the earth, to myself and to others
so that I can be at peace with my world, and dream
into being the kind of world I want to live in.
I
have created a Winter Solstice Celebration this year
that fits our modern world; that speaks to us symbolically,
mythically and in a real and heartfelt way. Everyone
is welcome.
This is a night where we can
re-connect with love and belonging
A night where we can create the life that we are here
to live
When together we can dream a kinder, more loving world
into being
