| My
yoga courses are aimed specifically at beginners to
yoga and those who want their yoga practice to be
a meditative, relaxing and strengthening experience
rather than a struggle.
We
use the classical hatha yoga postures together with
the breath, and we deepen, extend and expand them
over time, so that we are encouraged to reach a deeper
sense of inner peacefulness within the context of
effortlessness and relaxation, rather than trying
hard to achieve.
You
will be surprised at how quickly you begin to feel
the benefits. Life Force Yoga allows energy (life
force) to move through the body. Throughout the sessions
we will be encouraged to stay connected to our body,
to become more self aware, so that we learn where
the edges are, where are limitations are, what our
body needs, and how to meet those needs. We come to
know where the energy is blocked and how to release
the blocks through our practice.
We
come home to our body and back to our true nature
if only for an hour or so! And it feels good!
My
yoga includes understanding why we do the postures,
what effect they are having on the physical body,
and just as importantly what effect the postures have
on the emotional body. As we raise our emotional intelligence
we enhance our ability to deal effectively with our
own emotions, and greatly enhance our ability to deal
empathically with the feelings of others.
We become compassionate in our communication with
self and others.
We become the peace we want to see in the world.
Each
class contains the following sessions:
Breathing:
A 10 minute session that encourages you to let go
of all the day to day stimuli and come home to your
body ready to begin your yoga practice. You’ll
find it relaxing and soothing to the spirit to get
back to the breath.
Standing
Sequence:
A series of dynamic warrior postures done with ease
and effortlessness that helps to build inner strength
and outer confidence. A sequence that encourages focus
and determination.
Floor
Sequence:
A series of gentle postures that leads you back into
balance. The floor sequence encourages you to open
up and reach out into the world around you and then
come back to yourself, to a place of deep inner peace
and stillness. Ready for the relaxation session.
Relaxation:
A visualisation starting with your breath that takes
you through your body encouraging you to let go of
all tension and become totally present with yourself.
There is nothing to compare yourself to, no goal to
be achieved, only deep inner peace and relaxation.

CD is available to yoga students
The sessions are set out exactly as above so that
you can choose any one of the relaxations or sequences
by themselves as they stand alone; or put them all
together for a complete session.
